The CDA Database

The CDA Database is on a separate site for security reasons and can be accessed via the following link:

https://cda.courtdata.com.au

Overview

The CDA database allows a user to search
  • a person's name or
  • that of a company, business or other entity such as a government agency
to see whether they have been scheduled to appear before a criminal or civil court in any Australian state.
Important

Important information

  • The oldest criminal records go back to 2012.  Civil records started in 2017.
  • The CDA Database is not an official Police Criminal History search.
  • The only form of identification is a person's name.  No DOB or address are available.
  • Only four (4) of the eight states show offences:  SA, WA, NT & TAS (TAS pre August 2020).  However, the Matter Type is often of assistance.
  • Court outcomes are not provided in the database. Therefore no guilt/innocence or any other assumptions should be made.
  • The CDA Database shows details of all the people involved in a court matter if they are provided in the daily court lists.  This means that both Applicants and Respondents to a particular matter can be listed.
CDA Free Searches

Free searches

It is necessary to create an account to be able to conduct searches.

Free searches show whether a name is in the database and how many records there are in association with that name.

Upgrading to paid access from only $9.90 for 1 hour of unlimited searches is then necessary to see record details.
Sample records - CR = Criminal, CV = Civil

What the records show

Different court types (Magistrates/Local, District, County and Supreme) in different states can show different information.

The CDA Knowledge Base provides full details of what can expected in every court type in every state.  Screenshots are also provided.

Click below on either the criminal or civil links and then on the state of interest.

CDA Database Alerts

Database Alerts

Alerts can be created in the CDA Database for a person's name or a that of a business.

After creating an Alert, you will receive an email whenever a future record for that same name is added to the database.

This is an ideal option if you want to keep track of any new records for one or more people and/or companies.

Any registered user (paid or unpaid) of the CDA database can create an Alert.

Other court list data providers

Court Data Australia is totally unique in the scope and depth of the criminal and civil court list records provided.

Unless a data provider has access to our API (only a very select few do*), then they are simply unable to provide the same extent of court list information.  CDA obtains data from over 44 different criminal and civil courts and tribunals.  Our oldest records go back to 2012.

Other data providers will have fully automated systems to capture the 'low hanging fruit' (the better formatted online records), but CDA goes the extra distance in getting every single available record, even where it is necessary to do that manually.

* Contact us and ask whether your data provider has access to our API.
